UP Law wins championship in 2018 Stetson International Moot Court Competition
UP Law students Marianne Vitug, Marianne Estioco, Mikee Bernardino, and Sheigne Minano emerged as the champions of the 22nd Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition, held last March 22–24, 2018 at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida.
Under the helm of Prof. Rommel Casis as adviser, the team was also awarded the Second Place for Best Memorial, with Marianne Vitug recognized as the Best Oralist for the Finals round, and Marianne Estioco as the 4th Best Oralist.
This year’s theme was “Responses to Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza and Transboundary Wetlands.” The group bested the Law Society of Ireland and Universidade Federal da Bahia – Brazil (semifinalists), and the National Law Institute University – India (runner-up) at the international round of the competition.
