More than five decades later, the memory of Martial Law continues to shape our legal system and national memory. Through this collection of Philippine Law Journal articles from that period and beyond, we invite readers to reflect, remember, and continue the work of building a more just future through legal education and scholarship.

The Philippine Law Journal  is the flagship peer-reviewed, student-edited law review of the University of the Philippines College of Law and the preeminent legal periodical on Philippine law. Since its establishment in 1914, the Journal has contributed to the development of Philippine law and jurisprudence and has served as a platform for scholarly analysis and solutions to pressing Philippine, regional, and international legal issues.
