UP Law team breaks into Jessup quarter finals, wins special awards

A team of University of the Philippines College of Law students reached the 2019 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, which took place last March 31 to April 6 in Washington D.C. Members of the team also won best speaker awards.

The team is composed of Marianne Crielle G. Vitug; Abelardo G. Hernandez; Marianne Angeli B. Estioco; Danielle Sophia B. Garduño; and Edbert Marcel S. Ragadio. Vitug was named 10th Best Oralist in the competition, while Hernandez bagged the 12th Best oralist spot. The team was coached by Professor Rommel J. Casis.

Prior to joining the 2019 Jessup, the team was proclaimed champion of the 2019 DivinaLaw Philippine National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition held at University of Sto. Tomas last February 21 to 23, where it swept all the rounds all the way to the championship.

Jessup is an annual moot court competition organized by the International Law Students Association and participated in by teams from law schools based in different parts of the world.
