UP IHR–IPLPP provides Human Rights Training for Aeta/Ayta Communities in Central Luzon

The University of the Philippines Institute of Human Rights – Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program (UP IHR–IPLPP) conducted a community visit and human rights training for Aeta/Ayta communities from Bataan, Tarlac, and Zambales, who gathered in Limay, Bataan on 18 April 2026.

The activity aimed to engage directly with the communities, listen to their experiences, and better understand the current situation of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples in the region.

Aside from the visit, the program featured lectures by Atty. Raymond Marvic C. Baguilat, Head Legal Officer and Lead Researcher of the UP IHR–IPLPP, and Atty. Jessica B. Chica, UP-IHR University Researcher. They emphasized the importance of human rights education and its practical application in addressing the communities’ concerns.
