UP-IILS Launches “A New Treaty on Plastic Pollution: Perspectives form Asia” Last 25 October 2021, the UP Law Center (UPLC), through the Institute of International Legal Studies (UP-IILS), in collaboration with Ecologic Institute, Alternative Law Groups, National University of Singapore, and Thammasat University-Thailand, officially launched a report in partnership with WWF entitled “A New Treaty on Plastic Pollution: Perspectives from Asia.”   The report highlights Asian perspectives on the global challenge of marine plastic pollution, featuring information gathered from 16 Asian countries: Bhutan, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor…

Asian Comparative Law project

Asian Comparative Law project This project will be a publication of papers providing a comparison of laws in certain Asian countries with the laws in the Philippines. Each chapter will be focusing on a specific branch of law in their respective country. There will be two phases: (1) papers focused on Asian laws, and (2) collaboration and comparison with Philippine law. A conference will be the culminating activity where the publication will be launched.
