Gender Sensitivity Training for UP Law Students

UP GLPP Conducts Gender Sensitivity Training for UP Law Students

To help engender a more inclusive environment in law schools and the legal profession as a whole, the Gender Law and Policy Program (GLPP) of the University of the Philippines College of Law has been conducting regular gender sensitivity training sessions for law students, graduates, and faculty members within and outside the university.

Following the success of its first Gender and Development webinar last 9 April 2021, the UP GLPP has pushed to widen its reach this academic year and has now conducted six more iterations of the webinar titled “Gender and Development 101: A Webinar on Gender Sensitivity” for various audiences.

On 13 September 2021 and 9 January 2022, with the assistance of the UP Law Information and Publication Division (IPD) and in partnership with various student organizations, the UP GLPP conducted the first gender sensitivity webinar primarily geared toward incoming first-year students of the UP College of Law. A total of 336 participants, composed largely of first-year students from the UP Diliman, UP BGC, and the recently opened UP Iloilo campuses, attended the event via Zoom.

Upon the request of the Graduate Program Coordinator under the Office of the College Secretary, the UP GLPP also conducted a gender sensitivity webinar exclusively for the College’s LL.M. students on 16 October 2021. The event was attended by 14 LL.M. students.
