Yarcia was part of the Philippine contingent to the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition that won the national rounds last January and went on to represent the country in the international rounds last March.
He is also the beneficiary of many prestigious scholarships, among them the 2015 John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Global Leadership Program Scholarship and the UP College of Law Scholarship in 2016.
Yarcia also works for NoBox, a non-government organization that advocates for a human-rights based approach for drug-related issues in the Philippines.
“This award represents unfinished work, not just for all the awardees, but for the UP community in general. There’s a lot of work to be done, and that includes fighting for the rule of law,” said Yarcia.
