UP College of Law Scholarship Program Announcement

New applications to the UP College of Law Scholarship Program are now being accepted for the Academic Year 2020-2021. For the first semester of AY 2020-2021, the scholar may receive a full tuition fee grant (depending on their STS Bracket), a book allowance (PhP 10,000.00), a monthly stipend for four months (September to December set at PhP 10,000.00/month), as well as an internet kit and internet allowance (worth PhP 10,000.00). Philippines Needs New Law For PH-CH Joint Gas and Oil Explorations In a recently held online forum dubbed “Tapatan sa Aristocrat”, UP College of Law Associate Dean Jay Batongbacal discussed the issues that may arise from the PH-CH joint gas and oil explorations in the West Philippine Sea, citing that the current policy under the Offshore Oil Exploration Development Act of 1972 is based on the assumption that the partners for oil explorations are corporations that “will always be subjected to Philippine laws, rules, and regulations”.
