International Trade and Economic Law Research Program

  • Training Workshop on Negotiating International Agreements for Technical Negotiators

International agreements have gone beyond political arrangements and have expanded to subjects that are technical in nature.  Negotiations can cover a wide variety of topics from trade, finance, intellectual property, and environmental law.  While negotiators tasked to represent the Philippines are experts in their respective fields, there are other matters they have to consider prior to entering into an international agreement.  To assist technical negotiators and personnel involved in the preparation of negotiations, the Institute of International Legal Studies will conduct a two-day Training-Workshop on Negotiating International Treaties for Philippine Negotiators intended to benefit fifty (50) participants composed of both legal and non-legal staff from different government agencies.
