The Institute of International Legal Studies of the U.P. Law Center has prepared a primer on the arrest, surrender, and proceedings involving former President at the following the arrest of former President Duterte last March 12, 2025.

This document was prepared by Asst. Prof. Michael T. Tiu Jr. and his team to provide the media, the public, and officials with basic information on the proceedings before the ICC. The primer and FAQs consolidate the legal developments in the Situation in the Republic of the Philippines following the hybrid colloquium entitled “Legal Developments in the Situation of the Republic of the Philippines: A UP Law Faculty Colloquium on the International Criminal Court (ICC)” held last March 14, 2025.
