Launch of The Monograph

The term “rules-based international order” (RBIO) has been the subject of debate among scholars. Last August 2024, the Institute of International Legal Studies (IILS) of the University of the Philippines Law Center, in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), hosted a roundtable discussion featuring expert panelists and reactors exploring the theory and practice of the RBIO.

Following this roundtable discussion, IILS and DFA are now officially launching the monograph of the discussion. The Launch of the Monograph on the Roundtable Discussion on “Examining the Rules-Based International Order (RBIO) from Perspectives in International Law”, which features a formal launch of the monograph and a public discussion on the RBIO, will be held online through Zoom on 25 June 2025 (Wednesday) from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The Launch will build on the scholarship of the matter and continue the exploration of the perceived weakening of the RBIO amidst the pushback against multilaterialism.
