Virgilio Santiago Jacinto has been an Associate Professor of the University of the Philippines College of Law since 1999. He obtained his A.B. degree in Philosophy cum laude (1976) and LL.B. cum laude as class salutatorian (1980) from the University of the Philippines.  More than that, he placed 6th in the 1981 Bar Examinations. He then earned his LL.M. (1984) from Harvard University.

Formerly, Professor Jacinto was a Partner of the Villareal Law Offices, an Associate in Sycip, Salazar, Feliciano & Hernandez Law Office and a Director/Corporate Secretary in United Coconut Planters Bank. Currently, he is the Senior Vice President of San Miguel Corporation, Corporate Secretary and Compliance Officer of Ginebra San Miguel Inc. and Top Frontier Investment Holdings Inc.
