PROFILE
Professor Danilo L. Concepcion serves as President of the University of the Philippines upon his election for a six-year term in February 2017.
Professor Danilo L. Concepcion has consistently excelled during his academic years, as he continues to do so in his career. He finished his BS degree in Agricultural Engineering, summa cum laude, (1979) at the De La Salle-Araneta University and subsequently topped the Board Exam. He then obtained his LL.B., cum laude, (1983) from the University of the Philippines and became a topnotcher in the Bar Examinations that year. He received his LL.M. (1986) from the University of London as a scholar of the British government.
He was appointed Associate Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1996 and served until his resignation in 2000 to become President of the De La Salle-Araneta University.
He returned to UP in 2002 to become Associate Dean of the UP College of Law, Head of the UP Law Center and Director of the Institute of Judicial Administration until May of 2006. He has also served as the UP Vice-President of Legal Affairs.
In addition to this, he actively serves as a law professor, bar reviewer, corporate law practitioner, and radio and TV personality.
