CALESA Digital reports on the Digitization of the Administration of Justice

The first set of the Interim CALESA Digital reports on the Digitization of the Administration of Justice examines how digital tools and processes can improve judicial efficiency, accessibility, and transparency.

Professor Emerson Bañez, representing the Department of Justice, provides an analysis of the present rules and digital systems within the Philippine court systems and offers proposals for reforms to facilitate its further digitization.

Alejandro Fernández Muñoz of the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Parliamentary Relations of Spain, provides a comprehensive overview of the legal and technological innovations that led to the digital transformation of the administration of justice in Spain with recommendations for the Philippines.

The CALESA Digital project is a collaboration between European and Philippine universities which aims to develop legislative reform proposals that support judicial digitization and modernize legal frameworks to keep pace with digital transformation.  Three specialized teams were created, each composed of one academic expert from Spain, one from the Philippines, and an expert from a relevant government agency from Spain. The teams will be focusing on three topics: the Digitization of the Administration of Justice, The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Administration of Justice, and Private Law: Digital Content and Digital Data.
