26th Stetson Southeast Asian Regional Rounds Champion

The UP Law wins 26th Stetson Annual International Environmental Moot Court Competition Southeast Asian Regional Rounds (SEARR) Championship

UP Law proudly congratulates the UP Law Stetson Team for prevailing as Champions of the 26th Stetson Annual International Environmental Moot Court Competition Southeast Asian Regional Rounds (SEARR) held virtually last January 24-28, 2022. The team bested Ateneo Law School in the semi-finals and won against Singapore Management University Yong Pung How School of Law in the final round, where they were judged by a panel of International Environmental Law and International Humanitarian Law experts. This year’s theme revolves around “Challenges Presented by Borders and Conflicts in the Resolution of Environmental Issues.”

The team is composed of Raymond Shappit, Jasmin Althea Siscar, Isis Valencia, Micah Ecarma, and Michiko Lokin. Raymond Shappit was recognized as the Best Oralist of the Final Round and the 5th Best Oralist Overall, while Michiko Lokin was awarded 4th Best Oralist. The team also won Runner-Up Best Overall Memorial.

The team will be representing Southeast Asia in the International Rounds, where they will compete against the champions of regional rounds in Africa, East and South Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Latin America, and North America. The International Rounds will be held in April 2022 and hosted by Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida.
