UP Red Cross Moot Team and UP Stetson Moot Team open for tryouts
The UP Law Debate and Moot Court Union (UP LDMU) invites everyone to try out for our team for the 2016 National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law—organized by the Philippine Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross—or the 21st Stetson International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition!
The Stetson Moot is open to all law students, while the Red Cross moot is open to all students of the College of Law, who do not yet have graduating status. Interested applicants should send a letter of intent to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 12 August 2016, indicating the moot court team he or she wishes to qualify for. Applicants will be asked to prepare a sentence outline of assigned submission/s and a five-minute oral pleading. The compromis or moot court problem, deadlines, and additional instructions will be sent by e-mail.
The college recently won the first runner-up in the 20th Stetson Moot in Florida, U.S.A. It also took the first runner-up in the 2015 Red Cross Moot and the championship in 2014, where the team proceeded to reach quarterfinals and place first in the role-play competition of the 13th Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot in Hong Kong.
