UP Law finishes as semi-finalist in 2017 ICC Moot Court

Competing with 64 schools from 50 countries all over the world, the University of the Philippines team finished as a semifinalist in the 2017 International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Court Competition (English version) held on 14- 19 May 2017 at the Hague, Netherlands.

The five-man team was composed of Theodore Joseph Jumamil, Monique Castro Roa, Vaupetroanji Peña, Risa Crisostomo,and team leader Samantha Ann Tirthdas. Tirthdas was also recognized as the overall Best Speaker and Best Speaker for the Prosecution. Coaching the team was Prof. Nicolas Ty, assisted by Raphael Pangalangan.

The English version of the ICC Moot Court Competition is organized by the Grotius Center for International Legal Studies in Leiden University. The competition promotes the ICC’s work with academic communities, as well as respect for the international criminal law.
