NICHOLAS FELIX L. TY
Assistant Professor of Law
Professor Ty has been an Assistant Professor of the UP College of Law since 2014. He teaches Commercial Law subjects, Private International Law, and Criminal Law.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Economics (cum Laude) from the University of the Philippines in 1997 and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the same university in 2003. He holds a Graduate Diploma from the European Union Institute in Japan and a Masters Degree in International Economic and Business Law from the Kyushu University in Japan.
Aside from teaching at the UP College of Law, Professor Ty is also the incumbent Director of the University of the Philippines Law Center’s Institute of Government and Law Reform (IGLR) whose work includes the drafting of legislation and administrative regulations and whose advocacy revolves around law reform and better governance. Prior to becoming the Director of the IGLR, he was the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Dean from 2011 to 2013.
Since 2009, he has also been a partner in the Molo, Sia, Velasco, Dy, Tuazon, Ty & Coloma (MOSVELDTT_ Law Offices, where he specializes in Commercial Law, Special Projects, Corporation Law, and Labor Law.
