PROF. TE APPOINTED IN QUEZON HALL [ 5. Aug. 2008 - 17:36]   

            Prof. Theodore O. Te, former Director of the Office of Legal Aid of the
U.P. College of Law, was appointed Vice-President for Legal Affairs of the U.P. System recently.  Prof. Te earned his LL.B. degree at the U.P. College of Law in 1990 and teaches Evidence, Criminal Procedure and Supervised Legal Research.

NEW OLA DIRECTOR [ 5. Aug. 2008 - 17:35]

   
        Prof. Evelyn (Leo) D. Battad is the new Director of the Office of Legal Aid (OLA) of the
U.P. College of Law effective June 1, 2008.  Prof. Battad is an alumna of the U.P. College of Law Class 81.  She earned her LL.M. degree in 1998 at the Yale University.  Prior to being the OLA Director, Prof. Battad was Deputy General Counsel for Judicial Affairs of the U.P. Office of Legal Services since 2006.  She also handles Law Practicum and teaches Labor Law.

IGLR CONDUCTS MULTI-SECTORAL FORUM-WORKSHOP ON WOMEN AND CHILDREN [ 5. Aug. 2008 - 17:33]


        A Multi-Sectoral Forum Workshop on Women and Children was conducted by the
Institute of Government and Law Reform (IGLR) on May 28-30, 2009 in joint sponsorship with the National Capital Region Police Office and Regional Investigation & Detective Management Division of the Philippine National Police at the U.P. Law Center.

GRADUATION AND RECOGNITION RITES OF CLASS 2008 HELD [ 5. Aug. 2008 - 17:28]

   
        The recognition rites of Class 2008 was held on
April 28, 2008 at the University Theater with the parents and relatives of the graduates and the law faculty in attendance.   This year’s class salutatorian and class valedictorian are Jesusa Loreto A. Arellano-Aguda and Henry Rhoel R. Aguda, a husband and wife team who were also classmates.  They were also garnered the Class 1972 Academic Excellence Awards recipients.

ESTABLISHMENT OF PROFESSORIAL CHAIR [ 5. Aug. 2008 - 17:23]

     
    The Estelito P. Mendoza Centennial Professorial Chair in Law was established by Susan A. Mendoza, Mary Eleanor A. Mendoza, Mary Agnes Cecille M. Zulueta, Michael A. Mendoza and Joseph A. Mendoza in honor of their father, Atty. Estelito P. Mendoza, (High School, `46; A.A. `48; LL.B. `52).  He served the University for twenty years as a member of the law faculty.

      The Centennial Professorial Chair in Law shall be awarded to a full-time Professor of the
U.P. College of Law.
