Upon request of Associate Dean Concepcion L. Jardeleza and with the authority of Dean Danilo L. Concepcion, on behalf of the UP Law Center, we would like to state that there is no truth to the post/meme/news/rumor presently circulating in social media that the UP Law Center has officially issued a legal opinion on the issue of the citizenship of Senator Grace Poe. The UP Law Center as an institution does not issue such legal opinions. Any such posts/memes/news/rumors are false.

We express our concern over the unauthorized use of the UP Law Center’s name and reputation for the purposes of direct or indirect electoral campaigning in the social media. We ask that citizens and netizens be more discerning and circumspect in circulating posts that originate from dubious sources such as fake/satirical news sites and unauthorized/anonymous persons.

We further request that citizens and netizens respect the institutional autonomy and integrity of the UP Law Center by not falsely attributing to it any acts, statements, opinions, or positions that it has not undertaken or expressed.
