Assistant Professor of Law


Professor Bañez teaches Legal Bibliography, Legal Method, and Legal Profession. As a lawyer, he specializes in the intersection of information technology and law.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Research from the University of the Philippines in 2002 and a Juris Doctor degree from the same university in 2008, where he became a member of the Philippine Law Journal. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in April 2009.

He taught in the UP College of Mass Communication, Communication Research Department from 2005-2013, and was the Technical Chief of Staff of the Institute for Government and Law Reform from 2011-2013. He also served as Associate Solicitor, and later, State Solicitor in the Office of the Solicitor General from 2013-2017.

He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines College of Law and Special Counsel of the Disini & Disini Law Office. He also teaches at the University of the Philippines Open University.
